Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Peter Hutton as its new Head of Retail in Scotland.
With more than 16 years’ experience in the industry Peter has worked with some of the high street’s best-known brands including Oasis, Warehouse, Superdrug, TUI Travel, Co-operative Food, Pret a Manger, Argos, JD Wetherspoon and Church’s Shoes.
He has represented major landlords including Landsec, Henderson Global Investors and Aberdeen Standard Investments and worked on a variety of shopping centres including Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow, Ayr Central and The Centre in Livingston.
Hutton, who lives in Glasgow, joins as a Partner from Kilpatrick Property Group where he was Property Director, managing assets in excess of £15M. Prior to that he was with Culverwell Property Consultants for eight years, heading up the Glasgow office from 2010-2012.
Peter said: “I am excited to be joining Cushman & Wakefield, working with the teams in Scotland and London, where the company has a strong reputation for providing excellent commercial property advice, specifically in retail. There’s no question that the retail market is changing, but if you have the right product, the right location and can create an attractive environment for shoppers there is still demand. Buchanan Street in Glasgow is a great example of this, with a number of new additions over the last 12-18 months including Nespresso, Jo Malone, Victoria’s Secret and The Ivy.”
Stuart Dorward, Head of Scotland for Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Peter has been on our radar for quite some time and we are delighted that he has agreed to join us. This is another fantastic senior appointment for the Scottish business.”
